I just purchased The Engine 2 Diet book. Wow!! Fantastic. This is the plan I followed during my first 28 days eating a plant based diet. I didn’t falter. It wasn’t exactly easy, but it really was very manageable. I have actually lost track of how many days I have been eating a plant based diet, but I believe I am coming up to my 4 month anniversary!! I will tell you, after not having certain foods in my diet, and then splurging on them, it is so not worth it!! I allowed myself to have a burger because that is what I wanted…boy, I will tell you I was up almost that whole night, with a belly ache as well as waking the next morning feeling like I was recovering from a night of heavy drinking…I felt terrible!
I think the first week was the most difficult. But once you can get past that initial “shock”, you could get past anything. Although I have stayed pretty much on plan, I allow myself to have something off plan at times, but not too often.
